Notes to Math 119 Students:

Grades have been posted for exam one.

Understanding the gradesheet: next to each student ID you will find four numbers: E1 IC raw, E1 IC letter, E1 DAH, E1 letter, cumulative; and finally a letter indicating the grade in the class to this point.

E1 IC raw--this is the number of correct answers to the in-class portion of the exam. There were 25 possible.
E1 IC letter--this is the letter grade for the in-class portion of the exam. There is a scale at the bottom of the grade sheet indicating the conversion from raw score to letter grade.
E1 DAH--this is the letter grade score for the do-at-home portion of the first exam.
E1 letter--this is the composite letter grade for exam one. It is computed as the average of E1 IC letter and E1 DAH.
Cumulative--this is your current grade in the class. since we have had only one exam the cumulative score should be the same as E1 letter.

Example:
Consider this line from the grade sheet:

the student with ID number 111111 scored 21 (out of 25) on the in-class portion of the exam which translated to a B (3.0). On the do-at-home portion this student scored an A (4.0). The student's aggregate exam one score is 3.5. The student's net score for the class is 3.5--exactly on the boundary of B and A. The student's current grade in the class is B.
